I called the first time to sprint (been a customer for years) and they tell me that there is no "Premiere" customer club. Everyone on the forums informs me that I spoke with the Janitor and I should call back.

Called back...here is my story:

"hello this is **** from Topeka, KS, how may I help you?"

I wanted to check the premiere status of my account and the pricing for the Evo.

skip to the good parts....

"okay since you have the $75 credit, the phone will cost you $299 minus the $100 mail-in-rebate, minus the $75."

So what you are telling me is that the $75 doesn't come off the original price of the phone ($400) but the $199 since I am extending my contract?

"that is correct "

-------------------------------

So my question is..."is this chick lying to me and I'm yet again being filled with wrong information?"

I also called best buy and they told me that whatever discount (75 or 150) does not come off the 199 and they do not uphold that discount, only Sprint does.

Wrong the phone will cost you 449.99 - 75.00 bucks if bought from Sprint or RS. If you buy from BB you will pay 599.99- $75.00 bucks

The phone at Sprint is $449.00
Everyone gets a mail in rebate of $100 >>$349.99
New customers get $150.00 off >>$199.99
A full $150 dollar premier upgrade >>$199.99
A $75 dollar upgrade >> $274.99

No idea about Best Buy or Radio Shack

If you are a premiere customer with Sprint you can upgrade on a yearly basis. This means you pay the same price as someone signing a brand new contract with them. Forget about the 75 or 150 stuff it all gets confusing at least it did for me :)! Just remember that every year as a premiere customer you get the same price as a new customer when you upgrade

...+1

I am not a premiere customer because my father-in-law (who is primary account holder) went out of good standing and we lost premiere status.

I was told I only have the $75 discount, not the full $150. :-(

thank you all for clearing this up.

Look at it this way dude. It's 25 bucks LESS than the TP2 w/ new contract when it came out :)

Are you sure about that? Everyone I talked to said it would be whatever the cost of the phone will be (since everybody I talked to said that the OFFICIAL full retail price is yet to be announced) minus the 75 dollars if you one year since the last time you renewed. So if it were to be 449, all you can subtract is 75 to get to 374.

minus 100 mail in rebate which would bring the final price to 274

Anyone who activates the phone on a two year contract or extends another 2 years gets the 100 rebate. To guarantee you actually get the dang thing:

Keep the phone active on the line until you get it. (min 30 days)
Don't make a late payment
Fill out every line on the form
Stop by your bank and have a notarized copy of the receipt made and send the original in with your rebate.

Cool, I thought the 75 bucks was all you get. Geez, lots of wrong info out there!

Thank you sir!

Best Buy and RadioShack are both instant rebates down to $199

if you buy the phone at a sprint store you are gonnna pay at least $299 out-of-pocket and get the paperwork for a $100 mail-in rebate. if you buy it at the shack or best buy the rebate is instant. $199 out-of-pocket..(new contract or premier cust upgrade). if you're not a premier customer you need to wait either 18 or 24 month to be eligible for the $150 discount. i think non-premier customers get $75 after 18 months...idk i think i just confused myself.

WRONG WRONG WRONG GBHIL

Don't quote things when you don't know what you're talking about.

You DO NOT get the $100 mail in rebate unless you're eligible for the FULL $150 upgrade discount. You get NO nail in rebate if you're buying it outright or if you're only eligible for $75 off.

WRONG, read the mail in rebate.

Why do you post things when you don't have a clue what you're talking about? Just sit and keep quiet if you're not sure. Stop misinforming others.

I have bought phones from sprint before with only receiving a 75 dollar discount and received a MIR. You could be right. Maybe mistake on their end bout i posted from what i have received. So take breather and calm down.

And the thing with the Premier upgrade is that it is only on the primary line. If you have multiple lines only the primary gets a 12 month upgrade. All others fall into the standard 22-24 month upgrade cycle.

Not to add any confusion, but you can have the premier upgrade on two lines, My wife and I do. Her phone is he main phone, and they put it on the premier upgrade plan 2 years ago, and mine has been on it for at least 5. I have been changing my phones out every year, and she has the last 2. I have the $99 unlimited plan, and she is on the $69 unlimited data plan. We have been customers for over 14 years.
