Sprint gave me two offers:

$25 a month for the V40
or
$15 a month for the V30

Which do you suggest and why?

What are you looking to improve over the V20? (If neither the 30 or 40 seem thrilling, don't upgrade.)

There's not anything in particular. I just wanted an updated phone. Love the idea of more cameras. If anything, feature wise, I'd want the note series for the pen use. I was a note fan from 2 to 7. But after the 7 fiasco, I jumped ship to the lg v series and loved it.

go with the Pixel 3 or note 9 if your staying with Android those would be my bet!

Nah, I'd say to get the V40. Coming from a V30 myself it is a major improvement. The screen is better as are the cameras. It runs smoother after long up times. Quad DAC sounds even better and there's a DTS X surround sound enhancement but it's hit or miss when it comes to music. Battery life is on par with the V30 which means depending on use you'll get between 5 and 8 hours of screen on time and it gets better as the days go on.

I love my V30. Battery life is the best I've ever had by far. Usually 2 days. over the weekend I had almost 3 days (2 days 20 hours) with 4+ hours screen time. The wide angle camera comes in handy too.

I switched from a V20 to a V30+ and I must say the V30 is much faster and improved battery life well worth it. Sadly I miss the second screen. To me the V20 is still a great phone. Runs slower than the V30 but it ran like clockwork. Never a problem. The V30 has a curved screen and the touchscreen seems a little picky. If the V40 is an improved version on the V30 then go with it. Latest android and faster processor. DAC is in all of them and camera options are unbelievable. Sounds like your like me. Love the V20, but it's time to move on.

I want to switch to the v40 this week but curious if I can get the TV on special for an upgrade.

Also thinking of adding a new line for my daughter. But I don't want her having the new phone. How do others manage this scenario???
