I know on my rom (TPR), the Sprint Hotspot is indeed unlocked, so I'm guessing yours is too. Don't worry though, if it was going to charge you, when you attempt to use it, it will tell you that you have to add it to your account etc.

No need to worry. No charges will be coming. I've run a hacked hot spot since the old evo 4g and nothing.

Thats what i figured i just wanted to make sure... even with the discpunt i get from my employer, my bill is still to much IMO. This going to come in handy for access to alldata online when i have mobile mechanic work to do. Im thinking of goog back to a stock root because this rom has a horrid battery life, is there anything i can flash just to use the sprint hot spot? If not im guessing i will need to wait for wifi tether for root users to be updated?

You can get the hot spot mod from xda. There is thread on it. Odd your battery life isn't good, mine is awesome. Have you checked to see what is draining it?

I've heard reference to Better Battery Stats, although I've never used it. For me, I get about 16 hours with about 35% remaining with moderate use. I've only done two things: I turned on Power Saving Mode (I've seen no ill effects with it on) and I use Greenify, which does a great job of hibernating apps that have absolutely no business running in the background.

You can also use an app called wakelock to see whats draining the battery. Search it in the playstore.

I tried searching but came up empty. Link to this thread?

Thanks.

I'm rooted using CWR. Only change I did was turn the camera shutter off. How can I tell if I'm odex or deodex? I want to make sure I install the right file.

Looks like it's just a .zip file. Do I transfer it to my sd card, boot in CW recovery and then choose install from external sd card zip and that's it?

If you are still on the stock ROM then you can use the odexed version. If you are on a custom ROM or a themed ROM use the deodexed version.

Yes place the zip on sd, boot into recovery, wipe cache & dalvik then flash the hot spot zip. You should then be good to go.

Look into your system/app folder using a root browser (es works well) if you see two apks for each app, and one has .odex on the end, you are odexed.
