Hi,
I bought the M9 and wanted to give my boyfriend my M8 to use on Straight Talk. They told me all I needed to do was buy the Sprint CDMA BYOP kit and get a 45.00 plan. We did that but during the activation process, it would not work. They then told me that I could not use the phone w/ their company. Is there any way to get around this? If I can get it unlocked, does it only work for international use? Is there an unlock process for domestic use? Or am I SOL? I did a search of the M8 forum prior to posting but if I missed a thread that addresses this issue, please let me know (and my apologies).

As a last resort, perhaps I can find someone to trade me for a GSM M8 in the marketplace. Thanks guys! :-*

How to SIM unlock the HTC One (M8) for free | HTC Source

I was able to obtain the sim unlock code from Sprint via chat. Straighttalk.com shows that the IMEI is valid but when trying to activate, it says not compatible again. I was not prompted to enter in the 6 digit unlock code provided by sprint. HTCSimUnlock said that Sprint has some type of software that blocks it from allowing the unlock prompt to pop up. A**whipped at this point is an understatement. What a fiasco.

You were the smart one LOL. We ended up getting him a cheapo LG 41C *ultimate 2* - Dude he's coming from an OLD Samsung that uses T9 so anything is an improvement lol. It's a nice little phone, especially for the price. I had fun setting it up. I'll just sale my M8 and be done with it.
