Sprint HTC One M7 Sense 6 Update

Is there a way to turn off the thing where it turns regular emoticons ( such as ": )") into emoji?

I'm not sure about the Blinkfeed (I have it disabled), but I know you can go into settings > personalize > theme and there are four choices for color schemes. It changes colors for messaging and email and all that, so I'm sure it'll change the Blinkfeed as well.

Yes, it will change Blinkfeed as well.

Is anyone else having an issue getting the update? I have successfully downloaded it a half-dozen times, but it fails about 1/3 of the way through the update process. (Goes from Green Circled Arrows to Red Triangled Exclamation). I have also tried manually pushing the update via FastBoot to no avail...

Are you rooted or a custom recovery?

I'm having the exact issue. I'm not rooted but my boot loader was unlocked however I relocked it before downloading and trying to install the update. Any ideas on a fix for this?

Being rooted triggers a flag and having a custom recovery will cause the update to fail. You will need to RUU to clear the flag before the update will take.

I updated to sense 6. Now google drive and dropbox do not show up in gallery app...
Is this due to the new gallery app update?

So is just unlocking the boot loader considered being rooted even if I relocked it? If so could I get a link to where the fix is?

No the rom or software is whats rooted but the bootloader also triggers a flag and thats where you get the tampered from.
Here is the RUU which will take you back to out of the box stock. If i were you i would go s-off first for future purposes unless you never plan to root
