Sprint HTC One - MMS not going through today?

None of my pic messages are going through today. Sent to Verizon and Sprint users just to test. I'm using GoSMS as my messaging app but the "unable to send" error notification shows up through my stock messaging app too.

Any ideas?

Did you check with your carrier to see if there was a MMS problem in your area? I know texting services run off a different set/bank of towers and do occasionally go down from bad weather or other problems.

I had something like this happen on Sprint back a few years ago and the text would not go thru and those that managed to send were delayed by an hour or two. Talked with Sprint CS and they explained a main texting tower was down in the Chicago area and they had to go thru another set of towers and it was causing horrible delays and failed messages. In the end I got a small credit to my account for the inconvenience

It straightened itself out. Not sure exactly when. I sent a voice note through text last night and it went through no problem.

It's happening again. This time it has been for a few days now. I messed with the message size settings in Go SMS to try and straighten it out but no dice. Also tried updating PRL and the profile, whatever those are.

Have you tried just using the native /stock messaging app instead?

While I was out and off wi-fi, I tried sending a pic and it went through. Came back home and turned wi-fi on and the pic couldn't go through. What could possibly be wrong with my wi-fi?

Ok...not to 'stick my nose where it does not belong'

But, I have had similar problems with public WiFi...without any technical knowledge, I'm just wondering if it is some how blocked.

Just saying...you might want to check your WiFi settings.

Oh it's a secured wi-fi connection at home. This only started happening a few days ago so it was obviously fine before. Actually, the only other time it happened was the day I started this thread a couple weeks ago.

Please understand that I do not have any real technical knowledge...

But, from what you have posted, it seems to me that some sort setting on you home WiFi router is blocking the MMS.

I'm just saying, if it were me, I would run the WiFi router software and see if some settings is messed up.

Normally it's a port being blocked.. For it to be your home network is weird but it could be the firewall on the router.

I had the same problem on my old phone sending and receiving MMS. It was an HTC Hero and I was using Handcent. If I turned off wifi then I could send MMS and receive MMS all day long. Turning wifi back on MMS wouldn't work again. On my new HTC One I decided to use Textra this time. No problems at all sending or receiving MMS on wifi. My wifi at home is through a 2Wire AT&T Uverse RG. What type of wifi setup are you having problems with? Have you tried using another messaging program?
