But I have an unlimited plan - is it possible to get unlimited on Verizon without being grandfathered in?
I've seen the plans for sale on eBay, but it requires your phone number to change to the plan sellers I believe. Check it out. As far as I Know that's the only way.But I have an unlimited plan - is it possible to get unlimited on Verizon without being grandfathered in?

Sorry for going off topic but are you getting a lot of disconnects lately? My friend is telling me he has full signal and drops calls every time and Sprint claims no issues.

Is it area specific? It could be on an overloaded tower.

Anywhere he goes its happening at the moment. Any time of the day and night for the past week or two.

Wow, that's bad. Maybe a problem with the phone?
When I had signal issues with my Thunderbolt, Verizon Sent me a few warranty replacements. In the end, they sent me a Rezound, which finally fixed the signal issues.

Both him and his friend are suffering from the issue so its not phone related. Both are about to switch to Verizon because of this. They used to get great service but lately not so.

They are probably working on the towers in the area.. When they start doing this you go through hell of dropped calls, even more horrid data, and signal issues.
