We signed up with Sprint last year and Leased 2 S6 Edge Pluses. It was part of Galaxy Forever promotion. We were told that every year we could change our phones to the newest Samsung Galaxy phone. When we went to do the pre-order, there was no lease option for this phone. When we asked about what we signed up for last year, we just got a sorry about your luck! We still went ahead and did the pre-order but a little disappointed that we will have to pay off the phone before we can upgrade. I am hoping after a year, I can just resell the Note 7 and get at least my payoff. Unfortunately we just don't have the 1700.00 to purchase the two phones.

We did pre-order at BestBuy. I called two different Sprint stores, one of them had no idea they were even doing pre-orders and the other one said they were offering the lease option. Then a few hours later, I called the store back and they said they weren't offering the lease option.

Sorry to hear that :(

I was told the same thing when I bought my edge+ last year. Like you, the idiots at the sprint store told me last month that I would need to pay off my old phone before I would be eligible to get a new one. The confusion comes from the faxct that the galaxy forever program only existed a very short time.

Anyway, I was able to pre-order on Sprint.com this week with the ability to simply turn in my edge+. The way it works is that they are going to bill my account for the amount remaining on my s6 edge+ and then credit it back once they receive it and verify it is in good working order.

If your pre-order has not killed what should be your eligibility to turn in your old phone for the note 7 than I suggest checking out srpint.com and see what their system says. Hope this helps

We've placed your order, and we've started processing it. Your order number is:

oy-shso-EDITED

We'll send you this number in an e-mail. Use it to check your order anytime at www.sprint.com/myorder.

Success
Don't forget to turn in your old device(s). We'll send a prepaid shipping kit with your order to return your old device(s). If you don't return within 14 days of activating your new device(s), the remaining balance of your new device(s) will be applied to your bill.

If you have an Apple iPhone or iPad, you must reset the device before you return it. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings. The device must have data connectivity to complete these steps.

I asked the same question when I was preordering as I leased the Note 5 last year myself. I was told there will be an option once we receive the phone to pay an additional $5 per month to allow an early upgrade at the 12 month point, which sounds like a decent option still

Yeah Sprint wouldn't let me lease either, apparently you can lease an s7 or s7 edge but not the pre-order note 7. It will probably become an option after the promo period, I'm guessing.

In two different sprint chats yesterday, I was advised that lease options would become available after the pre-ordering is completed. They also advised myself as they did another poster here that an extra $5 a month ( or you could pay it later) gets you a yearly upgrade as well.

I don't have to pay my leased Note 5 off....I simply need to turn it in. Why do you have to pay it off?????
I was elegible for an upgrade....maybe that's why?

I was able to lease the note 7 via pre order

I work for Sprint (not corporate) and we aren't allowed to lease them, because there isn't a lease option for the Note 7. I know they took away leasing for the S7 edge too.

That's what I was told as well that there will be no lease plan as of this moment. I currently have the Note 5. I just went ahead and did the pre order for the Note 7. I'll just have to wait 2 yrs for another upgrade. I should be able to do this. Lol. I originally went to best buy and they said I have to pay off my existing phone before i could upgrade. But when I called and pre ordered from Sprint there was no prob at all doing so. They also managed to help me out on getting me a better plan "outdated plan" without affecting my contract agreement. Good luck everyone. The 7 looks great.

Its obvious this is the most expensive note to date due to its 850.00 and sprint doesnt want people to jump on the next note next year. So like many of you I'm forced to do 24 months. Leaving us with the great new note 7 but really taking a great option we used to have. Money driven world we live in.

I would guess a lot has to do with the residual value of the device after 12 months too. Apple stuff holds it value incredibly well. A 32gb 6s plus is still a $500 device used right now. My 32 gb S6 edge plus might be worth $350 if I am lucky.

When these devices are turned in, sprint has to do something with them.
