Hi Everyone. I just got my Note 5 the last weekend in August and it has been such an awesome phone. Right now, however, I'm freaking out. I was reading a news article and went to switch to another screen or app and my phone is completely locked with the screen on. Nothing is working; none of the buttons (volume or power); none of the icons - I cannot do anything to the phone. There was a system update waiting yesterday when I woke up and it had been running just fine. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm probably going to call Samsung shortly but I can't be without a phone due to a medical issue. I guess a small saving grace is that I chose to get insurance on this phone and I never do. I'll report back when I have more information.

Welcome to the Great Note 5 glitch add a card to samsung pay i called samsung they wont help and sprint is clueless lom

Not a helpful answer and I actually DID read that thread before posting. If you read my issue, the phone was not responding at all and it was at least 10+ minutes, not just a few seconds. No functions on the phone would work. Also - not a "Dude."

Hold the power button and the volume down button, until the phone reboots.

Thank you, Kelly! A friend was actually able to point me to a link to get that info last night and I didn't have a chance to respond.

To Oscar above: I DID read that thread in the forum before posting, however, my issue was that the entire phone was locked, with the screen on, for over 10 minutes. It wasn't just a short glitch as the entire thing was rendered useless. Also, not a "Dude." This is the link that helped:

How to Reset a Frozen Galaxy Note 5

If the phone gives you anymore problems, I would wipe cache. If it still does, then I would reset it. Still a problem after that? Exchange it.

The carrier won't exchange it for you without a reset, so might as well do that if the problem continues, just make sure you have things backed up from your phone.
