After accidently hitting the "Clear Data" button for the Internet App on my HTC EVO, which wiped out my bookmarks, etc., I readjusted my settings and re-added my lost bookmarks. Now, when trying to get back to the "SprintWeb" website (URL: http://vision.sprintpcs.com or http://sprint.com/powerdeck, which is the redirect link), I just get a black page with a white "SprintWeb" banner at the top. The site loaded fine before and I work with a friend who also has an EVO, and he can still get to the page(s) with no problem.

Calling Sprint for help with the situation, the first level of Tech Support had me try a data restore (##3282#, etc.). When that didn't work he transferred me to Sprint's Advanced Tech Support.

After 5 phone disconnects to Sprint's Adv Tech, and then being put on hold for 32 minutes, I was told that a full phone reset would fix the problem. Yeap, trash all my 230+ apps, lose all my data, dump all my contacts, and I will be able to see that site again. Fair trade, right? No, wrong. I do realize that a full phone reset would probably fix the problem, but that's a case of the cure being worse than the disease. And it seems to be a tech support catch all--we can't figure it out--reset your entire phone. There has to be a better solution.

I know this subject of not being able to get back to "SprintWeb" after a "clear data" has been touched on before, but a resolution has yet to be posted. My guess would be a missing cookie which would contain the login credentials. But how to recreate that cookie? Or how to trigger the website to ask for the account info again?

I know other people have had this problem. Did any of you fix it? Can anyone give me a solution? (Other then, of course, a data restore (tried and failed) or full phone reset (ain't gonna happen)--who knows, maybe there really is no other fix.)

Thank you in advance for any info....

When I had that problem on the standard browser I would open the browser go into setting and clear everything and then back out close the browser and it would bring up a screen asking for my 10 digit phone number then i'm back to the sprint webpage.

I just did it again but this time I reopen the browser and went to a website then hit menu, home button it the more setting and it brought me to the sign in page. http//vision.sprintpcs.com/ i,m now signing in with my phone number and it works like a charm.

did you clear your internet data as well? it still doesn't work for me.

just throwing this out there as a possible work-around:
tried installing Chrome-to-phone on your PC and phone?
(visit website, send to phone)?
i understand you can visit the sites, but it doesn't appear in full content--maybe this is an odd work-around with which to 'bookmark' the usable page?

tried that to. just might have to face the fact i have to do a hard reset. :(

Try this, hit menu from the home screen and go to setting. Go to the bottom and hit updates. Hit Update Profile. That forces the phone to interact with Sprints network and It will identify your Evo and reset you phones settings whitch it uses to contact sprints network when making calls and using the internet. If it does not work, download My backup pro for free from the market and back up all your data to your SD card. Then do the factory reset, the one the phone is up and running, go to the market, put in your sign in info, then download he my backup pro. Then restore all your data from the SD card. Everything will be fine from there.

I'm sad to state that I had to do a hard reset. it works again, but dang shame I had to do a factory reset to correct the problem. thanks for all the suggestions.

Glad we could try and help my friend. If you have any other queastions and/or problems please post back and we will sure to help. Remember, the HTC Evo 4g forums on androidcentral has The Most post and topics with plenty of fellow Evo owners to help with almost anything.
