Sprint Solio

No, but that looks pretty cool!

--------
Sent from my HTC Evo 'cause it WAS the droid I was looking for.

Love mine, its got me out of a couple tight pinches. It can be a bit flake at times, and will stop charging randomly. I doin by pressing the battery indicator it usually resumes the charging

I charge mine via PowerMat using the MicroUSB adapter.. Seems to work pretty good.

i made my own about a yr ago and basically the same thing minus the pretty exterior. works well in my opinion

^^ Please do. I just bought mine but may return it because it takes way too long to charge in the sun. I would rather pay a third for a AA battery charger since I have sooo many rechargeables hanging around.

Has anybody ever used this.

Sprint - All Accessories

For the same amount of money (or less depending on the options you choose) you could buy a spare battery and also a charger than charges the battery with out the phone... Then just carry the spare battery around and swap it out....

I saw these things but instead went the spare battery/charger combo.....

For $ 69 can get hypermac micro external charger. Reviews of solio say takes forever to solar charge.

I have one, dont expect it to charge in the sun very well. But luckily you can plug it in.

its good for what its intended to be used for. If you can plug in your charger dont get this, if your out in the wilderness and need a way to charge your phone, i would say this i a good way.

I took my girlfriend to disney land about a year ago, and had my pre. Used it some, but it was the pre and died quickly anyway. Regardless i had left the solio charger on her dash all day. And by the time we got back it was fully charged. (we're talking 14 hours here)

On the way back from Disney land, its about an 1.5-2 hour dive, there was an accident, and traffic was being diverted. Pre was dead and we didnt know how to get back using the other route. Longer story short, i plugged that bad boy in. we pulled over got some gas and snacks. I pulled up the directions on my pre and off we went.

So take it with a grain of salt.

I would not count on that thing in an emergency or in the wilderness. It's slow to charge and useless at night or on an overcast day.

This is what will really get you out of a pinch. It's a radio and LED light that you can crank to charge. You can also plug in a USB cable and charge your phone or other devices.
