The Sprint store called me today and left a voicemail telling me to call back about my Epic order. Called him back but he just wanted to make sure I was coming in. He told me I would need a screen protector since the one they have already has a scratch on it. He also said they will have plenty in stock as well.

was hoping they were going to tell me to come in and pick it up...3 more days to go

Already had a scratch? Sounds like he's selling a dream. Did u tell him to check out the gorilla glass video?

Oh no, they actually called you? This isn't good. What if the early pre-order page was actually a test and if you signed up for a pre-order at that time, then it doesn't count? That isn't good, but at least I have a confirmation code, so I can argue if I have to.

He said he had checked my account to see if I was good for the upgrade and I would be ready to go on Tuesday. I did tell him it supposed to be scratch proof, maybe I'll see if they will show me on Tuesday. I already ordered a screen protector from clairvue anyway. The only thing I'll probably buy with it is the media dock. I already recieved a case from ebay and the tv out cable from amazon (hope it works with an update).

I did the pre order online as well.

Uh oh. They called me today as well but I didn't bother answering. I even have a specific time to meet with them listed on my Sprint account page. I really hope it was just a reminder, and not a call telling me not to bother coming in! I really want this phone on Tuesday. In any event, they didn't bother leaving a message.

That is ridiculous. The phone has gorilla glass. I've heard stories of iPhone 4 users doing horrible things to their iPhones and retrieving them with nary a scratch. I talked to an iPhone 4 owner today who told me his flew off the end of a speeding treadmill then slid across the gym floor several feet screen side down. Not a scratch on it. Are Sprint employees running over phones with their cars these days?

Sounds like they are trying to get rid of a large shipment of screen protectors. I doubt there is any scratch.

WTF. How could they have possibly already have a scratch on it? I would reject that phone then! You're paying premium prices for this phone! You want brand new condition not anything less!

They make a LOT more money selling the accessories then the phones. There mark up is absolutely insane on that crap. Sprint makes the money off the contracts. The local store however makes the profit off selling the accessory stuff.

I believe he meant that the demo unit was scratched, thus get a screen protector for the new unit.

Yes the sprint guy told me their demo unit had the scratch. I'll ask to see the demo with the scratch if they bring it up when I pick up the Epic.

Got my email from Sprint early this morning (Your Samsung Epic 4G reservation) letting me know that my phone will be ready to pick up tomorrow...

Since I have it reserved at BB as well, I'm hoping I get the call from them later today giving me info on my reservation there

I received my Sprint email this morning, too. I also pre-ordered my phone from Best Buy since I didn't want to deal with the rebate. I just called my local BB to ask about picking up the phone tomorrow and the sales guy at the mobile department said they hadn't gotten the phones in yet. That was disappointing. I hope they get them today cause I don't want to have to wait til the day after. this was my birthday gift to myself so I don't want to wait.

I'm driving an hour starting at 7:00 am to arrive when the Sprint store which is opening early at 8:00. I want to be sure I can get both a phone and a dock.

Glad to know I don't need a screen protector.

Does the dock do anything besides hold the phone and charge? Was trying to figure out if it is worth the $$$.

From the youtube video and other info. I've found that appears to be it. I'm curious about what else you would expect it to do. Always ready to learn...

I want to be able to watch a video in landscape w/out having to prop it up and use the GPS when driving. I travel a lot in the winter, so I'll probably buy everything they've got, lol!

I didn't know if it maybe put the phone in a "dock mode" where you can set particular settings for that mode. Also can you plug a headset into it at the same time for charging.

I thought I saw a review where they said you can enable the feature, but I'm not completely sure.
