Sprint update

noticed at 9pm est a Security update from Sprint was ready to go.
I had some quirky thing with Bixby going on but still manageable. My phone has been working 100/100 since the day I bought it. Sprint has been so much better here out in the country since the last update, I hope they didn't mess it up.
 
well, it is Sprint. they probably did. they did mine and mine was great until the updates. now just like my n4 and n3 - no signal. Sprint loves to push updates that kill things.
 
Again this one worked out great, service still excellent and Bixby working great.

Did they evaluate the problem you're having?

I need to do it again. asking Sprint to evaluate or do anything is like asking monkeys to dance. they can do it, but it's awkward and not particularly good. I think they pull my signal down because I'm unlimited. happens every time they pass any update to me. I've yet to have a phone with more than one bar once I get anything from them.

really glad yours is working well and signal is still great

Is your area usually good for Sprint? Check the signal strength in your area on Sprint.com.

it's fine on the maps, but not on my phone. and they make sure of that with the updates. had a great signal before updating. N7 and this one, I had an amazing signal before updating, per usual. doesn't matter good area or bad for me. they never let me keep my signal. not sure what they do when they do their updates, but it always dogs my signal. I wanted the updates sooooo...

I'm also grandfathered in with an unlimited plan. I haven't any issues with my signal. Try going into settings, and go to mobile networks. Make sure it's set to CDMA/LTE instead of automatic. Let me know how that works.

thanks for your suggestions, but I always check that stuff. long time android user.

what I did discover, right after trying to update my prl again, was that something was creating an issue. got an error message about "ims service has stopped error 6621". immediately became nearly completely unresponsive. tried several things... safe boot, changing settings, nothing would function and it was frozen mostly because the message kept popping up and interfering.

finally managed to get something done and got the message to go away. I think it's a conflict with BK Package Disabler. it was working perfectly this morning and last night, but the message went away once I uninstalled it (couldn't do much else as it was). I had another issue the first day of the most recent update and let the dev know. will do the same with this one. I think it needs an update.

thanks. now to let the dev know so I can safely use BK Disabler. I have a feeling it's something to do with the wifi fix part of the security update and BK Disabler.
 
and my signal is gone again. at least I know it wasn't related to anything except Sprint dogging me. once again I had 3 bars up to 4 and now back down to 1 bar again. very Sprint, for as long as I've been with them.

Now that's insane. I have 4 phone's unlimited everything and it hasn't affected my service at all in a negative way.
Get Accounts to credit your bill until they fix it. Don't accept anything less.
I wish it was something I could do bro.

I've been to other forums and seems they've helped others by taking away.

I left TMobile years ago just for that reason, the service was horrid.

I hope you get some resolve, I'll keep my eyes open if I hear or see anything that will help you.
