Sprint Version (Dual Core)

My upgrade is 6/1 as well and I STILL have my Epic 4G but running with ICS CM9 ROM. Its running so damn good that I could hold off till they release a quad core phone! You need to get off stock and root your phone so you can see how well your Epic 4G can run! And I like Sammy phones because of their screen superiority!!

I haven't seen it myself but I've being reading that the new EVO 4G LTE screen (HD 720p Super LCD) with Gorilla glass is the best looking screen on the market now (well come May 19th).

I read an article comparing the two screen technologies in which was stated that super amoled looks just as good as LCD 2 and that the grainy flaws only come out if you have your screen brightness set to. Less than 50%. Pentile in the dark apparently is the Achilles heel of that technology.

This is true. But the other unfortunate fact is a lot of people do have brightness turned down to conserve battery on these monster screens. A lot of Nexus owners face this.

Sprint's Galaxy S III will be called the Samsung Galaxy S III Epic 4G LTE now try saying that 10 times fast lol

I'm having the same dilemma. My upgrade is 6/1. I like both phones and they both have their pros and cons vs. one another. I've never used sense, but I hear a lot of people hating on TW. The thing that may make me pick the evo over the gs3 is that I've had an Epic 4g since the day it came out almost two years ago, and over the past year, I've had to pull the battery on average once a day. It freezes all the time. sometimes when I'm sleeping, so my alarm doesn't go off. I had to go buy an alarm clock! I haven't had a physical alarm clock since I was 16 and got my first virgin mobile prepaid phone! The epic kind of turns me off on samsung devices. Especially watching evo owners get updates months before we got them.

OMG are you me?! My upgrade is on the same day and I've been having the same issues with my phone that you have with my Epic 4g. I've also had to purchase a dedicated alarm clock because the phone will freeze over night. However I will be getting an S3 because I have heard stellar reports of people rooting and installing roms onto their S2's. Battery life is improved, no freezes, etc.

I still think with all the carriers having the same Galaxy S III design more or less, Samsung will be able to put out updates a lot faster.

After some help from some people on these forums, I went ahead and installed cm9 on my epic. It isn't perfect, but my phone doesn't freeze or reboot itself just for fun, it may be worth it for you to give it a try, even if you are getting the GS3 in a few weeks.

Nice and congrats on growing a pair like I did last year! :)

Yes, its not perfect BUT....and this is a HUGE BUT......its BETTER than stock!!!!!!!!

Does the HD screen transfer to apps and games also? or is it just the Ui, pictures and movies? JW!

Sprint website shows in specs that it comes with a 32gb micro sd card, is that a typo or true?? Not talking about 16 or 32gb of internal storage.

Thanks,

Ian B

(Memory

16GB and 32GB internal memory(ROM), 32GB MicroSD card)

I take that as it can use upto a 32gb card not that it comes with it, otherwise it would say that in the "whats in the box" part.

Thanks, that would have been sweeter. I already have a micro sdcard but a free 32gb would have been better.
