I decided to try my square with the new nexus 7 and it works finally, yay proper headphone jack!!!

Yup, I tested it too, and am elated that it works. :)

*edit* I also had a customer earlier today that I got to use it with. Much easier for customers to sign on than my Droid RAZR.

I just bought nexus 7 32gb and it does not read the card . what am i doing wrong/

Hard to say with so little information. Is your Nexus 7 the 2013 model? Reader is fully plugged in? App is fully up to date and you're logged in and have entered a price?

How do I even download (side load) Square to my Nexus 7 1st gen?

Why do you want to? The first gen doesn't support the swiper (the headphone jack has no microphone input - it's a hardware issue, not software, so it will never work on the first gen). You could manually enter payments, but they charge the higher transaction rate.

I sideloaded it on my first gen at some point, but I forget the exact method I used. Might have been using a 3rd party app marketplace.

Which may not be the same as mine.

Your images aren't working, I have no idea what you're trying to say or ask.

hello, i was wondering if anyone could post the apk for me? or give me some hints where to find the app so i could sideload it? i want to try it on a different 'unsupported' tablet but i don't know where or how to find the apk other than google play

edit: i found it on another foum. here it is if anyone else needs it: https://www.copy.com/s/iSK7V/com.squareup.apk

Since you bumped the thread, I might as well throw out there that I'm a little frustrated that lately the Square app on my N7 FHD gives me a message that the device isn't fully supported, so it could not work properly. So far it always has worked properly, aside from the stupid message popping up a couple times during each transaction. There might've been a slight delay in processing funds once, but it took like 30 minutes to get the confirmation email rather than a minute or so.
