Hello All,

Does sb succeeded to use this app? Not sure I setup all the rigth security config ...
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central forums. I'm not really familiar with SSH so I just plugged your question into Google and got this response. Let us know if they work for you and what you find if they don't.

The "Connection refused" error typically indicates that your SSH client reached the phone's IP address, but the SSH server application (SSHDaemon) was not listening on the specified port or actively rejected the request.

Common Fixes for SSH Connection Refused on Android

  • Verify the Port Number: Many Android SSH apps do not use the default Port 22 because it requires root access. Check your app settings; it may be using a high-numbered port like 2222 or 8022.
  • Disable Battery Optimization: Modern Samsung devices (Android 14/15) have aggressive power management. If the app is "optimized," the system may kill the background daemon process, leading to a refused connection.
    • Go to Settings > Apps > SSHDaemon > Battery and select Unrestricted.
  • Check "Listen Address": Ensure the app is configured to listen on all interfaces (0.0.0.0) rather than just the local loopback (127.0.0.1), which would block external connections.
  • Network Isolation: Verify both your computer and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network. Public or corporate Wi-Fi often has "Client Isolation" enabled, which prevents devices from seeing each other.
  • Samsung "Auto Blocker": Samsung's security suite may block unauthorized background socket connections. Check Settings > Security and Privacy > Auto Blocker and ensure it is not interfering with your network tools.

Recommended Alternatives
If you continue to face issues with that specific app, these are highly reliable alternatives for Android:

  • Termux: The industry standard for a Linux environment on Android. You can install a standard SSH server by running pkg install openssh and starting it with sshd.
  • JuiceSSH: Widely considered one of the most user-friendly SSH clients if you are trying to connect from your phone to another machine.
  • ConnectBot: A powerful, open-source alternative for basic terminal access.
