I have emailed multiple times and they are pretty much just customer service reps with absolutely no technical acumen. The first ***** said that I need Android 4.0 or higher(after previously stating what version I had, 4.4.2). Then I replied and asked that my information get forwarded to someone, anyone in the know. The reply that time was, try uninstalling and re-installing the app. My next comment was not at all pleasant. Then I got a message that I should call a number, so I did. After 25min on hold... I did speak to a live, breathing human being. He basically sympathized, gave me $10 added to my Starbucks card and said that he would forward it to the mobile app people. Alas, I am not convinced, because since that time I have received a couple more ***** emails and they have a reference number for my complaint, so I don't really think they are keeping track of who is saying what to me. I'm checking the play store daily and nothing yet. I am considering calling again if no resolution soon. After that, I plan to stop by their corporate offices on my lunch break one day and complain there.

Pretty much the same experience I have had contacting their support. I received the very same first response from them indicating I needed to be on Android 4.0 and above. I also replied with my version number and asked that this issue be escalated to their developers. I then received an email 'we take your concern seriously...', 'we are always looking for feedback on the Starbucks experience...', blah, blah, blah. I couldn't see where I was getting anywhere with them, so I just stayed with the old App for now. I share your frustration!

My E-Mail read 'Please can you explain as to why your Android app. is no longer available for the LG G3 here in the UK?'.

I then got an automated reply stating that my e-mail had been forwarded to their technical dept., and they eventually came back with 'Please can you give us more information, as we do not fully understand your query'.

Tell them that the Starbucks app is not currently compatible with the G3. That should be clear to them.

Thank you Danperde!!!!!!!!!! A thousand times over. I have been without for weeks. Before the update I couldn't re-load my card via the app. So for months now I've been without my Starbucks app. and I go EVERY day. I can't believe how easy it was. thanks again for the fix sir. I owe you big time.

Everyone just do what Dan said. Get the apk from somewhere else. Installs perfectly. And works perfectly. been using it for past three days.

I think that's what I said in so many words.

You said you told them that the app is no longer available in the UK. Maybe the person who read that doesn't quite get it. Tell them explicitly that their app is clearly not compatible with the G3, a very common and popular phone, and can they tell you when they plan to make it compatible?

You would think that, wouldn't you? Because that means they are intelligent, rational human beings. But no. They are darn near mindless talking heads who really know nothing other than how to placate people without getting what really needs to happen done.

If the person who read it doesn't get it, then their brain won't compute almost the same question with slightly different wording.

My point is that some people just need a very direct question or statement. It may be because they're not very smart, or it may be because they're sneaky and trying to dodge the question.

I also can't download the Tomtom app that I paid for. My guess is the Note 4 will also have the same issue. It'll probably be fixed since soon since there will be a lot more quad HD phones on the market once the Note 4 is released.

After several emails I got this reply from Starbucks this morning:

"Thank you for getting back in touch with us.
I am sorry for any confusion on the new app. Our specialist working on the app are aware that it is not compatible with the LG G3. I want to assure you that they are looking into this for our Customers. At this time we are asking customers to use their physical card. This is not a guarantee that the app will be working on the LG G3, however we are aware of the issue and or teams are working to see if anything can be done.
If you ever have any questions or concerns in the future, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Sincerely,

Marie C.
customer service"
