Starting to have some issues

Morning all, I have had my nexus for about a week now, still with in the 14 day return policy. Everything started off smoothly but I have started to see some issues. These issues have just started to happen within the last few days

1) Downloading anything and I mean anything via 3G has started to come down right painful. It takes several minutes to sometimes "server timeout/network communication error" messgaes to download apps or browse web papges. I had the SE4GT prior and don't remeber having these issues. I don't know if it's a radio issue or a network issue.

2) When trying to check for a prl or profile update I receive an error message stating "The prl or profile update could not be completed, please try again later, contact customer service if problem persists, error code 602 connection error"

3) Battery discharges a little fast. i have 18% left and it has been discharging for 18 hours and 23 mins, screen shows 34% use, voice calls 21% use, idle 20% use, cell standby 15% use, OS 4% use, system 3% use and media 2% use. As you can see I haven't really been on the phone that much so is this normal, good or does anyone see a problem?

Don't know about the battery problem, but I was having a similar issue with data and prl/profile updates when I first got my phone. I was on the phone with Sprint and they had to re-provision and refresh stuff on their end, and I had to re-set my phone a couple of time before it started working.
 
Ok. I contacted sprint and they advised me that the towers in my zipcode are being upgraded to network vision and thats is why my 3G is so slow. Upgrade will take about 3 weeks. So at least I know about the network issues. Now if someone could help with my battery issue that would be helpful. Just wanna make sure I dont have a defective unit. Thanks
 
I tried the free version of Juice Defender and am surprised how well it works for me.
When the screen is off, it keeps the phone from searching for a signal which keeps the battery use down. Only a couple seconds of delay to connect when you wake the phone.
I get 12 good hours with regular use.

Other then the battery life this was my "13 days with a nexus" in a nutshell. Plus I had places where I would get good to great signal on all other phones (including my old epic 4g) but my gnexus didnt even get roaming.

The only thing you can do is following:

-restart the phone
-update prl and profile
-shut down and battery pull for 1min.

That heped a bit but always ended back where I started.
