Static on Bluetooth Calls

So I finally have the LG V30. Generally a great phone. The only issues I have are weird ones: 1) I cannot get a glass screen protector to fit the phone properly. Different brands have the same issue. Almost as if the phone's screen is not level. I have had the same issue with two phones, and 2) bluetooth issues. I hear static on calls made over bluetooth. Two phones, same issue. My G6 did not have this problem. When I (briefly) had the GS8 and Note8 this was not a problem. The funny thing is, when the phone is in my pocket with the screen off, there is no static. When I remove the phone from my pocket and wake the screen, the static returns. The bluetooth works fine for my podcasts and music.

So I was wondering if others have had any bluetooth issues.

I haven't seen and bluetooth issues on mine. I use it in my car and on a cheap pair of bluetooth headphones. In fact, in my car I think phone calls are noticeably clearer/better than the S7 Edge which preceded it.

It's weird. I have never had a problem with bluetooth connectivity on an LG phone. I'll keep researching. It cannot be a coincidence that two V30s had the same issue.

What kind of bluetooth device are you using? Have you tried multiple and received the same results on calls?

The audio in my car (Subaru Legacy). I did not have this problem with the G6, Note8 or GS8. What I haven't done is try to sync to another Car's bluetooth. However, as no other phone has had this issue with my car's audio, I am guessing it is an issue with the Note8.

I am having similar issues with the Bluetooth on the LG V30. When the phone is too close to the built in navigation screen/Radio in my vehicle, I am getting a lot of static. Only when making/receiving phone calls. When I move the phone 1 foot or more away from the center counsel of the dashboard the static goes away.

Went to the TMobile store where I bought the phone. They produced another LG V30 and connected to my vehicle's bluetooth. Same issue.

No issues when connected to music players.

Quite frustrating as I really like the phone.

Yeah, it absolutely is. I love the phone otherwise. I have no other complaints. However, I make bluetooth phone calls daily, so I would have to deal with this issue every day.

It is a shame that I had to give up on the device. I thought about a third V30, but I think two is enough. No point in trying a third only to have the same issue and I was getting tired of having to deal with warranty returns to T-Mobile.

I just got the v30 last Sunday. I'm having the same issues. My s7 didn't have any issues, nor did the reps s5. He tried to dismiss it as my magnetic mouth, however I've had. My s7 on a mount for the last 1.5 years. Tried their demo v30 same issue. I was about to leave and come back tomorrow to exchange for a note 8 when I thought to ask him to try the demo note 8 they have in store. Tried it and Bam, same issue. As of now, I'm pretty sure the issue is Bluetooth 5.0. Both of these new phones have it. I'm going to check on the s8+ and see if it has the older Bluetooth. If it does, I'll be swapping for that

I reported my issues to LG. For all it's worth (probably very little), they said they will forward the concerns to their development team.
