Okay, so I have read about the changes to the new navigation bar on the bottom. I only have a simple question for that: is it still possible to keep it permanently locked? The dot on the left which was there in Oreo does not exist anymore.
Now then, the status bar (the one on top) is my biggest issue right now. The problem is that it keeps hiding, so if I want to check time/percentage/notifications, I have to swipe down from the top. This occurs everywhere, from the home screen to all of my apps, with one exception (see below). I want it to stay on screen permanently.
This is what I have tried so far:
1. Settings > Display > Navigation bar. My only options on this page are "Hard press Home button", "Unlock with Home button", "Navigation type", "Button order", and "Gesture hints". None of these seem to be related to the functionality of hiding/locking the status bar.
2. Went here (https://i.imgur.com/lkvvBcf.jpg) > Three dots > Status bar. Only options here are "Show notification icons" and "Show battery percentage". Neither of these seem to be related to the functionality of hiding/locking the status bar.
3. Settings > Display > Easy mode. I have tried turning Easy Mode on and off. Does not work.
4. (I use Nova Launcher Pro) Nova Settings > Look & feel > Show notification bar. I have toggled this off and on and it does not work. I have also toggled "Hide navigation bar" off and on and it does not work.
5. Joined the beta. This does not fix the problem. As of this post, the beta version I'm on is 6.0-beta14 (February 11, 2019) whereas the current non-beta version is 5.5.4.
6. Used the default launcher, Samsung Experience Home. The status and navigation bar (depending on the setting) DO stay, but ONLY on the home screen.
7. Samsung Internet > Settings > Appearance > Show status bar. I have toggled this off and on and it does not work.
8. Booted in Safe Mode. Does not work. However, since Nova Launcher is disabled, it uses the default launcher which does work (as described above).
9. Restarted my phone. Have done this many times by now; needless to say, it does not work.
10. Turned my phone off and on. Does not work.
I do not want to factory reset.
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
