status light on htc evo

I would like to see this too. As long as the LED is the right type, this should work.

I know Handcent allows you to change the color of the LED for their messages....

Maybe it's a setting somewhere I haven't found yet.

I would like this too. Are there other colors besides red and green? I thought I read somewhere here that there was a yellow or orange light for something.

I believe the LED is only capable of amber and green.

If this is a 3 color LED than it's a major "fail". Unless there's some engineering to it they maybe save a few pennies on not having 7 colors in there.

I've only seen green and "orange" so far although I saw red mentioned.

Just my opinion but a little blinking light that doesnt change 10 different colors isnt a major fail. This phone is awesome in every way. Anytime the light is blinking I check it anyway so I could care less for only 2 colors. People are way too nitpicky!

Missed call for Android (newer version) doesn't work with the EVO.

I got sms popup and it has the option of changing the color or setting a custom color. However, the status light doesn't change at all. Rather it's the version or the led is only capable of two colors...

No matter the color, if it's blinking I'm gonna check it. I'm just glad it has it at all. It took forever for the Pre to "upgrade" to the blinking notification without resorting to rooting.

The Missed Call app doesn't change a thing on my EVO. This 2 color LED is better THAN no LED at all.

Confirmed, there are only two colors, and in fact, they are separate LEDs. You can see this easily by the angle of the light. The orange LED actually comes out towards the right when you look at it, while the green LED comes out towards the left (meaning they're beside eachother and at an angle). Just look at them, if you tilt the device you can see it gets brighter.

actually it is a FAIL

the blackberry LED changes to a multitude of colors...so i know if I missed an email (purple), SMS (orange), MMS, google talk, BBM, etc.....and if it was a missed call, it would flash bright white which was like a strobe ligt

Now when my Evo blinks..I have on clue what is awaiting me

SMS's, MSM's, BBM's aren't as important as a missed call...but now I have to check everytime

BerryBuzz on blackberry was great! That is the only thing I really miss from my transition to android

I still need to get used to looking at the LED light up there. I'm so used to looking at the bottom where it was at for the pre lol
