Step by Step Newbie Root Guide for Wifi?

I see the sticky with a guide for the Verizon version, but I have the wifi only, and I'm wondering if there's a step-by-step, newbie friendly guide? A lot of the guides seem to think you know what something like "flash an image" means, and I really don't. The only device I've rooted was an LG Thrive and that had a one-step system that didn't involve the computer.

Is there such a guide out there? I'm not a computer newbie, but this feels like a whole different world.

I just bought a xoom today it came with 3.2 out of the box how or were do I go to root it everything I see says 3.1 only sad face
