Here is a site I found that gives step by step video converting. Tried it last night and all the movies work and are of great quality on my eris. I used any video converter instead of super as they describe. Set video to 480x320 bit rate to 512. All the movies converted to around 530mb. Hope this can help some.

DVD's on the Eris

I've been trying to do this for a couple of nights now and I'm not having any luck. I'm using handbrake on a mac to convert and playing it through the albums folder on the phone.

I keep ending up with a green screen with pretty good audio.

Any tips?

I've done only a few videos, but I use Handbrake set for the iPhone and iPod Touch preset and it works just fine.

Ok. I ran it again, using the stock settings for the iphone / ipod touch and still no joy. This time it comes up saying "This video cannot be played." Grrrr.

Are you changing any of the settings in the preset or are you using a different player on the phone?

I'v recently been playing around with nero 7. You can convert the movies through nero if you have it, and it comes out looking great. I use the highest qualityt setting and set it to 640x480. 3.5 minutes comes out to 6 - 8 mb. Try nero if you are having problems with handbrake. Nero is pretty quick at converting them also. I myself never liked handbrake

You need to make sure the settings you choose in handbrake are not for an unsupported format. Like AVI is supported but you can only convert to AVI standard not the xvid or divx format. MPG is supported, but WMV isn't, and MP4, and all quicktime formats are not supported. Look up Droid Eris supported video formats and you should be able to find a list. Then set Handbrake to convert to this format.

I have just used the standard settings. I suppose you could try clicking the iPod 5G support to see if that helps. I just use the standard player on the phone (when I have done it.)

You may also want to try the iPod preset to see if that works. It could be that is what I used for the movies I watch - I tend to use both of the presets, depending on where I planning to watch the movie more (my iPod or in iTunes/Frontrow on the Mac.)

If your having this much trouble with handbrake stop using it and try any video converter. It is a free download. Like I said before I had problems with handbrake. Are you following the step by step in the link? If you still can't get it to work email me and I will try to walk you through it

Alright, I'm apparently an idiot. After just verifying the settings, using the ipod presets work just fine. Thanks again for everyones help.

Yeah just to verify, after I switched to the iPhone/Ipod touch setting I have had no problems converting. Handbrake is a pretty cool little program once you get it tweaked.

I use the standard ipod settings, not the ipone/ipod touch settings. When I use the touch one, it gives me the green screen with audio. It is a good program, very simple and convenient. I did have some issues with Wall-E where it jumped a few scenes, but in all reality, my 2 1/2 year old doesn't care! It's great if we have an extended wait somewhere and he can watch the movie for a few minutes.

I've been using DVDFab to convert to a mobile format. works great. but its a paid Pc application.

handbrake has to be my favorite app, but DVDfab works well, i used it for a while before i got a mac, it's a paid app, so don't go on isohunt.com and search for "DVDFab keygen"! that'll get you in trouble.
