Sticking a ring to the back glass

I got this qi wireless charger for the car. It has a magnet to hold the phone to the charger. However, the LG V30 doesn't have enough metal to stick very well. The charger has a metal ring with adhesive to stick to the back of the phone. But the magnet in the charger is stronger than the adhesive, so it pulls the ring off the phone when removing the phone from the charger. The seller suggested using a phone case to keep the ring on, but I don't like cases. I tried supergluing (JB weld superglue, said it works on glass - "excellent for mounting rear view mirrors", not so much) the ring on, but that didn't stick either.

Any other ideas for sticking this ring on the back?

There's a suction cup ring for glass backs. I think I saw it on either Amazon or eBay.
