Sticking with my Galaxy S4

Re: Sticking with my S4.

Well I actually have played with the Note 3 (my uncle's Note 3) and yes its a great phone
Also want the S5 because its more powerful too
Again, the Waterproof thing is a big deal catcher for me

I'm not so sure the S5 is more powerful.

Be careful about that though, water proof it's not.....Water resistant it is, there's a difference

Re: Sticking with my S4.

So the 5 has this: Qualcomm's MSM8974-AC chipset, which is significantly changed from the S4. Will the 8974 be the exclusive processor for this 5 series?

Re: Sticking with my S4.

The galaxy s5 is not more powerful than the note 3. Maybe clocked a little higher, but not enough to make a difference and note has 3gb of ram don't forget

Ah yeah true...I'll still be getting the S5 though

The international version will likely use an Exynos processor

Re: Sticking with my S4.

I'll keep this short, but to me the s5 looks okay.. But I already have that 1080p screen and 2gb of ram. My phone will be updated for another year. What about you guys? It just seems incremental.

You're not their target audience. This is aimed more at those with an s3/ older galaxy device. Obviously from year to year it isn't going to be a blow off your socks type of upgrade, especially with how they haven't come out with the snap805 yet for phones. That and the snap800 is still a beast of a processor.

Re: Sticking with my S4.

I was somewhat shocked at the announcement. I have the S4 now and can't see myself paying full donkey for the S5. If the rumored "F" line becomes a reality, maybe then. But I really, really dig the front speakers on the HTC One, I mean M8. :D
Yep, don't think I will give up my S4 for this thing anytime soon, I will watch to see what other phones come this year and take a close look at those. If samsung keeps this thing up S4 may be my last Samsung.

Re: Sticking with my S4.

It comes as no surprise that the S5 is not mind blowing. It's just a small upgrade from the s4. I have the note 3 and I will not get the S5. The only good thing about Samsung release was the fitness watch. If you have the S4 it's not worth the upgrade

Re: Sticking with my S4.

This phone better come out cheap or this could be a major bomb for Samsung.
Much like where Apple has screwed up.....
They've become boring and assuming.

Sincerely,
An amazing S4

Doubt it. They'll still sell millions regardless of how different it is. Apple did...

Re: Sticking with my S4.

The GS4 wasn't a disappointment while I had it, but I switched carriers so I got the GN3 at the time. I am considering getting the GS4 and just not worrying about the GS5, but being a year out of date is tough.

Well said. :) That's why the S6 or whatever the next one is called is going to be my next phone if I don't get taken to the next htc phone.

Addressing your s4 with 'slimkat', how do you like your phone rooted? Compared to having touchwiz I mean.

Re: Sticking with my S4.

Unless you are a person who wants the latest greatest, upgrading from the S4 to S5 is a waste of money.

The technology call differences are minor unless you want the fingerprint sensor or heart monitor.
