3 possibilities spring to mind BR34KF4ST old son...

1. You have inadvertently spilt something on your phone or moisture has built up.

2. Your battery is leaking

3. Stop watching adult films.

;)

Well, there are no labels or whatnot that would have left any sticker residue... my first thought is that perhaps you set it on something that you didn't realize (syrup, etc). Is your phone kept in a case? If so, then that's very very odd... if not, see my first suggestion.

I'm facing the same Problem. After a few years untouched in the drawer, I wanted to use it as a secondary and noticed, that the back cover is sudenly sticky. First I tried to wash it, like the Person who started the Topic. But after a bit of thinking and reading, I've figured, it's the "old silicone" on the cover. It's not yet desolving, but ... It's important to know, that in the dark version of the Samsung Galaxy S5, the back cover was made as extra anti-slip. Obviously some kind of reaction happend with the anti-slip layer.
So far I've tried rubbing alcohol, acetone, degreaser, scouring creme, dishwashing detergent, oil, fatty nivea cream:-!, leather cream ...
and my last attempt was with a hack: "baking soda paste with water" basicly to restore old silicone storage containers. I guess it got tic better, but i'll give it another go.
