Still debating...

I've pre-ordered the Droid Maxx after reading a lot of early reviews of the Moto X and Droid Maxx. At first, I was aimed at the Moto X, but it was said to be a mid-range smartphone, not the "flagship" that the Droid Maxx is supposed to be. The deal breaker for the Moto X was a poor review of it's camera abilities. Granted 3rd party camera apps abound, but if quality isn't there to start with - no thanks. So far, I'm comfortable with the decision. Also, I like Motorola and was very happy with the Droid X, which has been in use ever since being released waaaay back when. I passed it to family members and it still does well, as does the Bionic that replaced it.

Another negative for the Moto X is the operating system being released with it - not the latest Jelly Bean. That may change after release, but who wants to wait longer for the best and latest OS?

Interesting that there are already cases available for the Moto X, but not the Droid Maxx. If you do a Google search for Droid Maxx, all you get is Razr Maxx and Razr Maxx HD. Going to be messy with the naming situation.

Just to be clear, the MAXX camera is the same as the Moto X camera. I agree with getting the MAXX, but not on the basis of the camera.

They're both RGB so probably not.

I said that when I was hearing it was non-RGB. I keep going back and fourth with the idea of switching back to Motorola and it's driving me nuts. I think I need to wait for the Note 3 reveal before I make my final decision.

Sure is. Owning a RMHD I KNOW what the correct search term is and I still sometimes come up with the wrong phone. Joe average phone citizen who doesn't know about the RMHD is likely to be reading reviews of the wrong phone, assuming they even look up phones before stepping foot into a Verizon store saying to the sales person "I need a new phone. Can you help me pick one out?"

Hmmmmm. Interesting! In that case, I sure hope the early reviews are wrong about the photo quality. Camera quality IS important to me for professional reasons and although certainly not the only reason to buy the DM, it's in the mix.
