The Soak Test and very limited roll out test happened very, very late on Friday and early Saturday morning... those that were in the Soak Test received their feedback request on Monday morning... it does take them a day or so to look at the results and to start the OTA... at least it did the last time I was on the soak test a couple months ago.

I spoke with the Verizon business rep for the company I work for and he said the rollout started on the 22nd but it is going by region and could take a few weeks for everyone to get it. Whether he knows what he is taking about or not is questionable...

I love how in May, all indications and "inside reports" were saying June. Now at the end of June, all "inside reports" are saying July. Can't begin to guess what is going to be happening July 27th.........
On another thread, tons of Maxx owners jumped all over a few of us for being frustrated by these ridiculous timeframes that are constantly being pushed back. Now I don't feel so alone as more people seem to be getting sick of it as well. Welcome to the dark, 'illogical' side of expecting decent service!

While you are partially correct, the update does come from Moto, however VZW has to approve it and push it throught their server's, IE OTA. Moto has publicly stated that VZW has the ICS update, VZW is just testing right now, which annoying, I appreciate.
When Gingerbread rolled out on the Droid X, mine bricked on the update, and as most know, Gingerbread never really worked that well with the Droid X, at least the 3 I had never liked it.
I want my ICS as bad as the next person, but I also want a smooth transition. But right now the hold up is on VZW.

Well seeing expected ICS rollout dates come and go and getting no answer from Verizon or Motorola. I think we have a "little" room to be frustrated.

This is starting to get ridiculous. First, there are multiple conflicting reports regarding the details of the roll-out. Verizon says they are rolling it out as of June 22, with no real additional information. Motorola says limited roll-out, and then everyone goes back and forth about limited testing\soak. What I know is that this is the first time I've had a phone with Verizon where I've waited at least 5 days since some notice came out that I am still waiting for the update to be pushed. Back in the BB days it was not a big deal because it was a much more simplistic process to update to a new build. I would really love to update my phone manually, but given the inconsistency in results with the update I can't risk it given I use my phone relentlessly for work. The delay is killing me here (Note To Self: sign up for future soak tests).

I got soooooooo upset waiting for my update that I just jumped off a cliff. Verizon is supposed to send me an update about what happens when I hit bottom.
I will let you all know something sometime in Q4.

Amen, brother. I was attacked by a group of Bionic owners suffering from a software update version of Stockholm syndrome. I don't blame them, though, because they have no other way to cope with the situation of being the first to purchase a device, but the last to receive the upgrade.
Also, like another poster said in this thread, I can't recall a time where Verizon released information on a software update, but it took longer than 3 or 4 days to actually push to the phone. Miscommunication between Verizon and Moto? Maybe, but the waiting game is being abused here.

Yeah we should! Since it makes a ton of sense to take a huge risk of jacking up our device. It might be worth it to those who can pay full retail for phones every 2 months. But some of us can't afford that lifestyle and we are stuck at the mercy of the all powerful OTA

Jelly Bean is dropping in mid-July. I hope we get this ICS update before then!

Guys and Gals, Jelly Bean has stolen my heart today. I still will accept ICS gladly, but I do so with an eye on the fruity beans ahead. I can only hope we some day will attain it on the maxx.

The process has been simplified and the risk of bricking has been reduced, but it's still there. There is a process to successfully bring you out of the brick you might encounter.
It's simple, if you understand the steps, the consequences and accept them, then give it a try. For those of you that root, then it should be a walk in the park.
If not, then wait.
