ThinkPad Tablet just came out didn't it? How come the major tech sites/blogs still don't have reviews of it yet? It sounds like an awesome tablet and from the previews and hands on videos I've seen it looks great and I'm really thinking about getting it. But I still want to get full reviews before I make the charge.

I've been looking for reviews, too. Seems like it hasn't actually shipped yet. I have to say, any time there's no units mailed to various website for review, it makes me feel like the manufacturer has something to hide...

Try the forum at:

They have some great videos and articles. Hopefully Android Central will give us separate forums for the Ideapad and the ThinkPad before long

Doesn't start shipping till end of the month so nobody has them yet. Check out ThinkPad Tablet Forum for a lot of info about the ThinkPad Tablet though.

I'm eagerly awaiting reviews too. I believe they are supposed to start shipping tomorrow August 29th. So hopefully we'll see some reviews soon.

I have had my Thinkpad Tablet since Thursday. Actually i am on it right now. They are available from third party sites and are in stock. I am absolutely loving this tablet. Can't find anything I dislike about it. My girlfriend has an ipad and I would take the thinkpad over it anyday. If anyone has questions I would be glad to try and answer them.
The pen works great for note take and general navigation.
The tablet feels very solid and the backing is definitely nice.
The physical buttons come in useful once in a while and don't get in the way at all.

Well the first question is which third party site has them in stock already? I ordered mine from provantage, but that was a special order and it will take a couple of weeks.

I got mine from Colamco. Use google shopping and search for lenovo thinkpad tablet 1838. Last time I checked there were at least 5 place which had them in stock.

Did you have to order the digitizer pen separately?

Oddly enough, Provantage now shows that they have 300+ in stock so I'm calling to get the status of my order. When I called last week, they were special order, but they did say it included the digitizer pen. I just got off the phone with them and they are shipping my tablet today, but now they aren't sure if the digitizer pen is included. I'm thinking that I'll have to go order it now.

I ordered the 32GB version and it did come with the pen. I am pretty sure the 16GB version does not. If the price difference between the 16 and 32GB tablet is ~$100 then the 32GB definitely comes with the pen.

Most of the 32GB versions I've seen have the Lenovo model number 183825U. I contacted Lenovo and they confirmed that the pen is not included.

If they're wrong and I get a pen with my tablet, then I guess I'll have an extra pen to sell.

Hot Dog! I've got my FedEx tracking number and I should be getting my Thinkpad by Thursday! Should be a fun weekend! Wow! I'm a nerd...

All i want to know is, how heavy is it with the keyboard case? Like a carry it around all day like you could do with an iPad, or too heavy? So would you get the other folio for carrying it around all day?

I don't have the keyboard folio, but even if it doubles the weight of the tablet, I think you'd be fine with carrying it around all day. It would still weigh less than a netbook, so the question you have to ask is if you would be willing to carry a netbook around all day.

Found one in German.
seem to be doing poorer in benchmark and battery life test.
