For all the complaints RAZR MAXX is still #1 for Verizon in August 12 Consumer Reports.

It's also highest scoring across all carriers at 78!

Yeah Moto!

Razr Maxx is the shiz. Regardless of the complaints. A brick of gold could fall from the sky into some people's laps and they'd whine about a scuff on the side.

The complaints are just from people not knowing anything about the ics update. Like that they should do a factory reset.

That's not totally true. I own a gnex and a razr and I have done 3 factory resets since ics update with no change in phones behavior. My screen turns on by itself (at random) several times a day and I loose all sound coming from my phone sometimes after disconnecting my corded headset. I have to restart phone to get audio back.

This was the most reliable phone I have ever owned before update and it is still a great phone after, but bugs do exist for some on ics. Hoping that the issues get's ironed out with next patch/fix.

I also agree that's not true. I did a cache wipe and a factory reset and my phone slowed down and battery life got worse. HOWEVER, after the THIRD cache wipe, the phone APPEARS to be MUCH more responsive and the battery seems to be improving.

I think the "patch" that is being touted as an August release will fix everyone! (Ok, that's VERY optimistic but I like to try and be positive when I can.)

Have you spoken with Verizon about getting a replacement? If you talk to them and tell them you've done all of the tricks that have been described like cache wipes and factory resets and the problems still remain, they will usually agree to send you a replacement free of charge. I did that with my old Droid Incredible.

I will wait until next month and see if the patch fixes my problems. I believe that it is a software issue because I had no problems on gingerbread.

I did a factory reset prior to upgrading to ICS. I didn't want to but my phone would not validate the download of ICS until I did a factor reset. Having read about the problems people are having I am glad I did the factory reset. I have not had any problems.

Funny what you said about your third cache wipe. I have this habbit of doing multiple partition cache wipes while I'm in recovery. That is what I do when I factory reset from recovery. I feel that it does make a difference and takes away chances of OS issues and second guessing. Still have problems then I make my call for my replacement. Rare but happens.

I got my Maxx as a replacement for my Gnex and the first thing I did was install the update. I've had no problems running ics at all.

I am attempting to use RSD lite the os again. Maybe it will fix some of the issue's that I'm having that others are not.

Point is that until the SG3 hits this is the top phone on the top carrier! Enjoy cause it can't last much longer. Here's hoping Moto takes a hint and keeps putting kick butt batteries in a top quality chassis with near stock Android!
