STILL trying to switch my radio from ZVD to ZHD HELP!!!!!

Im sure by now y'all are getting sick of me by now, but I THINK Ive figured out why I cant switch over from VD to VH because Im not sure where I am in my process. I dont have any options when I boot into recovery other than the "utility" mode. My only choices are: reboot system applysdcardupdate.zip wipe data/factory reset wipe cache partition and NOTHING else. When I try to flash the "update.zip" I get "SIGNATURE VARIFICATION FAILED! DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET TO THE "TOGGLE SIGNATURES" OPTION IN THE RECOVERY BOOT? I think Im SERIOUSLY screwed here!! DO any of you brainiacs know how to save my ass? Now, again, im a thick headed n00b and I need step by step instructions or someone to talk me through it. Im partially sighted and I dont "book learn" very well. (totally sux donkey balls). Once again, I throw myself on the mercy of anyone willing to help!! IM SOOOOO TIRED!!! going on 60 hrs with only 3 hrs of sleep!! I kinda get obsessed with my puter or my phone when they arent right. Sound familiar to anyone? LOL HELP!!!!

This will show you how to install the VH recovery, and how to update to VH, and root it.

Will have links on how to root VD if you are not root it yet.

Download the update.zip here (update.zip) which I found here (http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...-how-rooting-ls670zvh-links-root-zvd-zv9.html)

Place in on the root of your sd card (not in a folder)

Boot into recovery and choose "apply sdcard: update.zip". Follow all steps, DO NOT PULL BATTERY during this process, allow to reboot and flash the radio.

Once booted into 2.3 android, do a settings>privacy>factory reset.

Then you are ready to root via this here which will apply root and xionia (http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...0zvh-100-automated-no-revert-wipe-needed.html)

Another thing you might try is calming down, letting up on the panic button, and not typing your whole post in red and SHOUTING at us.

I normally would agree with you, but in a previous post he said he was hard of seeing so he posts in large, easy to read font.

epidenimus., Sorry for the color and the font size, but I am legally blind, my computer with the blown up screen took a dump on me 3 weeks ago and im using my partners TIIINY netbook. She wont allow me to do any adjustments to her settings, so I have to blow up my fonts so I can see. I do have to admit I am rather panicky as well, but that's because my electronics are dying faster than I can type!! Makes me a bit cranky. But please, bear with me and my fonts and colors. It's sux when the things in your life that are suppsed to make your life easier are falling by the wayside and I cant count on them to make my way through life. Sorry for the long, drawn out explaination, but I just wanted to explain the font and colors!

Hey, not a problem. You had no idea. But you were right, I was yelling at some points because so far Ive been working on this problem for 3 days with very little sleep, Im starting to get punchy. But I was putting what I saw on my phone in CAPS as well so ppl could understand better. Unfortunately, the suggestion by hlxanthus ddnt work for me. Ive tried all kinds of advice from ppl. I do have to admit that Im learning a lot, but Im getting nowhere with this problem. A. because Im new here and no one knows me and B. Im a total n00b when it comes to my phone. Im an electronics freak and not having my big ole 17" laptop with magnifaction and all the bells and whistles is paining me to no end. Not only that, my poor partner hasnt had the use of her netbook for 3 days and she uses it to Skype with her parents in Greece every morning and she hasnt been able to do that and I know it's making her crazy. Good thing she has skype on her 4g phone! Anyhow, It's nice meeting you, and if you know of anyone who might have a fresh idea about this, shoot them my way, will ya? I'd appreciate that! Hey! I want to thank you for taking the time for your suggestions. I followed them to a T Im pretty sure, and it just didnt work! the update.zip you pointed me to started working then stalled and aborted itself. So I guess it's back to the drawing board This is making me CRAZY!!! Ive got a phone that works for the most part and I should be thankful for that, but I cant stand the Sprint settings and the bland pix, lack of imagination, and oh MAN!!! The BLOAT WARE!!! Dont get me started on that LOL!!! But I felt I should hit you back and let you know that it didnt work, and it's back to the drawing board. Like I was telling the guy below, it's SO hard for me to get any answers because im fairly new on here, a n00b and no one wants to touch me, and with my eyesight being so bad, I tend to miss a lot of stuff. But I AM learning things. I do have to admit that much LOL! Being stuck and having nothing but problems has gotten me to read just about every post and in that, Im learning TONS of stuff!! So I guess it's a trade off huh?

It sounds like your download of the update may be corrupt. If I'm not mistaken, the signature isn't much more than an md5 sum, so that could be it. You could try downloading it again and repeat the process. Be sure not to unzip or rename the zip file once you've got it.

Just curious, if stability is your greater interest, then why are you moving to ZVH? ZVD is more reliable and stable by far. You are much more likely to have issues running ZVH radio.

I know it sucks, but if you are still on stock recovery, you were yesterday you said, I would do a factory reset, including a full format of the sdcard. Download a fresh version of the update.zip and start again. What ever goes wrong post the results so we know where it us failing. Good luck

Yes the whole process of going from ZVD to ZVH and rooting and installing custom recovery should now take no longer then about 15 minutes. I am not at computer so can not go into details now, but when I get home from work I will give more instructions.

Yes thanks to the fabulous DEV's on our optimus S it really is pretty easy to change things up. But one false move can be just as easy...good luck once you figure it out you will never look back.

Sorry, I'm new @using Tapatalk. I didn't mean to just copy a quote & submit it LOL! Good question. I want to switch over to ZVH because I'm a sucker for new ROMs and a lot of the ones I want to try are made for ZVH. Stability is a second thought to me a lot if times. I'm writing through Tapatalk because I FINALLY hit the wall early Friday morning & fell asleep with my phone shut off & the netbook still on AC running in my lap. I fell asleep sitting up! LOL!
So while I was knocked out, my partner took back her netbook, hid it & wouldn't give it back until I promised to get some sleep for more than a couple hrs.
Needless to say, I slept all day & just woke up bout an hour ago. Man! She hid that netbook but good! I can't find it anywhere and she's dead asleep. bah!
But now that I've gotten some rest, a lot of stuff I was reading lastnight that made no sense totally made sense tonight LOL.
It looks to me I'm going to have to totally clear everything up and format my SD card. But I can't do anything until tomorrow when the ole ball and chain lets me back at the puter.
But keep those suggestions coming! I'm sure I'll have more questions again soon haha.
I really do want to thank you all who have been so patient with me and have extended their help to me. But I'm STILL beat & ready to hit the sack some more. I tend to ignore my bad health when I get obsessed like that & forget to take my meds. So I'm back on my meds & ready to crash back out & work on my phone tomorrow.

Good looking our? Ya mean my partner looking out for me? If so you are totally right about that! She knows. I'm a lot a bit nutty and she's taken it in stride for almost 11 yrs. Sarah's the bomb and only participates in my madness when it starts affecting my health LOL!
She's still got the netbook. So I guess I'm calling it an early night since I spent moat the day untangling her yarn.
I'm gonna start of my madness once again tomorrow when she's at with hee hee hee (evil laugh)
