So I went with the HTC ONE. So far,I'm loving it. The screen is great, the speakers are boss, and the phone is fast. Now I just hope they do push out 4.3.
There's some things I'm noticing that I'm wondering are normal or not:
When I transition back to the home screen,I notice that the back ground of the status bar goes from solid to opaque. It's solid when a app is open, then opaque on the home screen. This wouldn't be a issue if this transition was instant, but there's a second delay. Its kinda jarring.
Also, I really want app devs to update there apps to get rid of that useless black bar on the bottom :/
Also, there's a few apps that aren't supported on my HTC one like need for speed most wanted and dashclock.
And I'm getting some crackling when moving the packed in headphones around in the headphone jack. Anyone else notice this?
Hmm...
I too get the first "issue", although I hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out... Thanks a lot!I think it's normal, it's just an oversight by HTC.
For the second problem, which software version are you on? I'm on 4.2.2, and there's an option to change a long press of the home button to the menu button. This will get rid of that bar in every app.
There will always be some incompatible apps on certain phones. EA is notoriously bad at updating apps to fix stuff like this, so you might be out of luck. As for Dashclock, it is compatible with my One, which makes me think that you might be on 4.1.2. Lockscreen widgets were only introduced in 4.2.2, and Dashclock must require this to work.
Moving my earphones around never seemed to make any particular difference, but I did have a lot of static through the earphones. I can't check now unfortunately, as they're broken :-(
Anyway, hope some of this helps,
Tom

Yeah, I'm on 4.1.2
Att is apparently pushing out 4.3 next week.
I find it incredible the thought that adults actually get can get jealous of other people's mobile phones.
