First time using stock Android since og droid. Is there a way to get the app shortcuts when long pressing an app when using nova launcher. It seems to only work with stock launcher. Second is there a way to have a sliding dock with different icons in stock launcher if there is then I wouldn't use nova

Someone can and will correct me if I'm wrong, but the app shortcuts are only available with the pixel launcher, and no, the pixel launcher doesn't do that.

Unless I misunderstand your question, I am using Nova Launcher, and I can long-press on any app and drag it to one of the home screens. Do you mean something different than that

No I meant using stock launcher long pressing on an app will bring up options like long pressing on play store brings up my apps. I was trying to see if there was a way this would work using Nova but I don't think it will

App shortcuts are a feature of the launcher. If you switch to another launcher such as Nova you will only have the features of that launcher.

So basically Nova launcher would have to add such a feature.
