I am an Exchange Administrator for a large University and have been managing Exchange Servers for well over 10 years. I just bought a new Samsung Note 3 (T-Mobile) and all of the sudden yesterday for some reason my phone will only sync old emails. Nothing since yesterday is showing on the device. I set up my same Exchange ActiveSync account on my wife's phone and it shows perfectly. I have not changed any settings, but there was a security update pushed to my phone a few days ago I had no power stop. I have verified ActiveSync is running smoothly on our Exchange server, I have removed the account, restarted the phone, and re-created the account from scratch on this Note 3. It still only downloads eMails since yesterday and older. The dozens of new eMails I have in my actual Inbox are all missing on my phone only. I can see them in OWA, Outlook and like stated earlier, even on another Samsung phone I tested with. What gives here? The phone has been working perfectly for the last 2 weeks as far as eMail goes, but now this.

Seriously, since the first time I needed Exchange access, I have never bothered with the stock mail app on any android phone. I bought Touchdown for Exchange and have used it for years. It is reliable, supports our BYOD program at work and just plain works. The Note 3 is my 4th Android phone using TD with.

-- Mail Admin (though I manage the Unix side, not the Exchange side).

Darn thing started working about 15 minutes after I posted this. And, this week, by boss, also on Android had the exact same problem and it started working on its own after 3 days of not working. Nothing was done on the server side either. Really strange and annoying. Thanks.

I tried Touchdown but at $20 it just doesn't seem worth it. Not that much better than the stock app.

I'm a happy Touchdown user as well. Has always worked nicely with my work email.
