Stock Gnexus stuck at google screen

I've searched and seen similar situations but im running a stock Verizon Galaxy Nexus, I haven't done anything to it. Whenever I do a battery pull, it gets stuck at the Google screen and I have to continue to do it like 10 times or more until it actually goes past the Google screen. I've cleared my cache before and that doesn't really do anything. I haven't done a factory reset, but I wanted that to be my last resort. I have a lot of apps and files and I just wouldn't want to do that. I was wondering if anyone had a fix to this? I don't understand why this would happen?
