Stock mail app failing to connect with Yahoo

I have done a ton of reading other threads on android central and other forums for a solution to my problem but most are outdated so I am asking to see if anyone now is having this issue. When using the stock mail app on my HTC Thunderbolt I cannot sign into my yahoo email address, but it works fine for my gmail. So the app is working fine on that part.

I can sign in online from my laptop and have correctly typed in my username and password (about three dozen times now). Even went and changed my password, still not working on the app.

I downloaded the Yahoo email app from the play store and that worked fine no issues and I can see all my emails but I want to use the stock app on android. I keep getting "authentication failure."

Is anyone else having this or had this problem and how did you fix it? The app was working great on a different ROM I was running but it had lost my LTE so I changed ROM to bamf to get my LTE back (don't know if that has anything to do with it b/c as I said before gmail through the stock app worked fine).

As of last night, I started having this problem, too, with both my tablet and phone for my Yahoo email. I keep getting the orange triangle "authentication error" and cannot connect.

My brother (on an OG Inc) and one of my coworkers (LGLucid) have both been having this issue and the only way they were able to fix was to switch to the yahoo app. Maybe there is something going on with yahoo somewhere since it appears to be impacting multiple devices.

I helped a customer yesterday I had previously sold a droid razr to its not just the thunderbolt or yahoo mail. this problem is happening with a lot of devices try re-adding the email account as other when it asks you what type of email address then just manually enter the pop and smtp email addresses typically pop.yahoo.com and smtp yahoo.com

If i remember correctly, the there is something in the .19 OTA that is supposed to address the problem with Yahoo mail and the stock mail app. The confusing part (to me anyway) is that i don't have any problems with stock mail app and my Yahoo account. I'm still running .9 because i "refused" the .19 OTA.
