Stock SMS app won't change background...

I've tried a hard reset and rebooting. There is only one background option to choose from... I've included a screen shot. I really don't want to factory reset. Any help is appreciated!

I don't think you can change the background with the stock app, can you? It's been so long that I've used the stock messaging app and have been using Handcent - Google Play Store.

Yes, you can. I had it set before and I don't even have the option to change it anymore.

Does anyone who actually uses the stock app know a fix?

What version of the Messaging app do you have (I'm running 1.0, which is what's in 4.1.2 on Verizon's MF1 build)?

Its working now oddly. I have the most recent Verizon s3 update.
