Stock SMS application's Preset SMS template character number

hi,

I just got an xperia z2 and I got this problem, I use the stock application for SMS sending, it is enough for me. and I need to set up a few pre-set text messages so I could send whenever theres a need. but the thing is that when I add a new message it reaches max. 140 chars. and then it stops, I cannot add in a longer message.

what year is it??

my old nokia c5 could take text as long as I needed them to be.

how can I fix this?

in hangouts I didnt even find a way to use preset text messages at all.

please help me out

There might be a limit as it is meant for swift replies and nothing large (hence quick reply) and once past that character limit it would then be converted into MMS.

Not sure other than rooting if there is a way around this.
