For those who are experiencing this issue, have you tried switching between H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC to see if the issue persists, or one is better than the other?

Yes, been trying to find a thread with this issue on all the main websites. This is doing my head in. Should be fixable with a camera or sofware update but that depends on Google acknowledging the issue.
