Stock weather widget not updating????

I have this problem on my Samsung galaxy recently I don't know if your problem has been solved but it was the problem of DNS on my device if you are using a router then change your routers DNS to 8.8.8.8 and in next 8.8.4.4 its google DNS and its safe and you can change it directly from your phone too just go to your selected wifi network touch it and hold and in modify network config.< show advance option< in ip setting change DHCP to static and change your DNS to above said DNS servers in there but don't change anything else
(NOTE: this solution is for a wifi connection only :))
peace!!

If I may proffer my observations based on my s4 mini in South Africa. I have both Google and GPS enabled. I find that google only works in large cities. In a smaller town where I live it doesn't. Also the GPS doesn't work in the house but if I go out into the garden it works fine. OK?

Nick, if you want good weather coverage in south Africa that does provide updating widgets, give the Accuweather app a try. If it does not find your location on first setup, switch the pbone's default device language to English (us) and try again. You can then switch back to your language.

Reviving an old thread, hoping for some new insights.

Having this problem with my Galaxy Tab s2.

Ironically, just returned from a business trip where the locator worked fine, through several changes.
However, now home and the locator has just stopped.

Can't remove the battery but have cleared the cache, turned locator on/off/on, turned device on/off/on.
Other location based services (e.g. Google Maps) work just fine.

What's the hate from the stock weather app?

I recently started having this issue again. Last time I resolved from one of the aforementioned posts. This time, nothing works. No major changes made to galaxy nexus, articles work fine, just the weather always says "location not available" or "location not immediately found" . waited weeks and issue persists.
I suspect this is a Google server issue. I suspect Google doesn't give two ****s and this will never be resolved. Back to the stone age sticking my head outside and wearing extra layers.
