How to stop camera going to sleep after 60 seconds in android 9.0. Its very annoying when going to record yourself on vids with camera a distance away. My phones sleep is set to 10 minutes..

And is there an online user guide so I can just look this kind of stuff up in a minute?

Which phone? Unfortunately, there may not be much you can do about that, since that behavior may be hard-coded into the Camera app to prevent battery drain (the Camera app can use a lot of power). Do you have any power-saving modes turned on?

There really isn't any official universal Android user guide online. The manufacturer of the phone (or your carrier) might have a support page for the phone with a bunch of general how-to guides (Google's support page for Pixels is quite extensive).

Which device?

Your saying by the time you set it up to record the screen turns off or as your recording?

moto g7 power. Very common popular phone.

Yes, for using cam on a video stand to record vids. By the time you setup, or do something your 60 seconds is often up and it goes to standby. So then you have to get back up, go over to the phone and re-select app from the running app switcher. All the 6 android phones I had do this. These phones now have advanced 4k video cams now, and beefy batteries. So can be put in a stand and used for youtube and all sorts... It amazes me this feature cant be over-ridden. Nothing online, nothing in motorolas guides.

Doesnt every android phone push the camera off the screen after a minute and into the running apps list anyway ?

You said you set screen time out to 10 minutes, what about lock screen time out ? Make sure camera out of battery optimization and you don't have your phone in battery save mode .

tried those. adaptive battery off, battery saver off, screen timout set to 10 minutes. No lock screen time out setting, the screen timeout seems to do the same thing. In battery optimisation for apps selected camera and camera tuner.. put dont optimize in those.

it could help if you could tell me if you understand the problem i am describing and am familair with it ? Because I have had this same issue with every of my 5 to 6 android phones for the past 6 years. So I presumed that all android phones do it .. Is this right ?

It was understandable in previous phones because of cam effect on battery.. , but it finally got really annoying now that Im holding a 4k high quality video recorder with a 5000mah 2 day battery and cant use it for making a 30 minute youtube vid, But it looks like there is no solution except get a dedicated camera or maybe iphone wont do this. In the meantime gonna make a 2 meter pole to use to touch the screen every 50 seconds :)

Your going to have to look into 3rd party apps or application can keep the screen on longer since your using in a way of video recorder .

Wouldn't it be possible to use voice commands to start recording on the phone? It's better than getting up.
