Stop Converting to MMS?

Hi

My Note 9 keep converting longer texts to MMS, I have gone onto message app setting and under multimedia have set to "restricted" and "warning" both have no impact and convert!

I have tried deleting app cache and data then change setting with no luck.

What can I do to prevent the phone converting?

Any help appreciated.

Write shorter messages or use a different SMS app.

It's a limitation of SMS messaging itself. Some texting apps can detect and make a long MMS message appear like an SMS, but it still sends as MMS.

Not really. Some SMS apps just support longer stitching. I know this because MMS costs different in my country and SMS is free, and I can send a 23 part long message free using Textra. They just support more stitching repeats.

With Textra you can convert long SMS to MMS in the settings

you can stop it in Google Messages

Thanks. I am now using Google messages app which has helped write longer messages without converting. In the stock app you can change to "GSM alphabet" which allows for longer texts.
