For the longest time we were able to click a link and CHROME would go to the link. Now it goes to the Samsung Internet. This is no good as our links count on Chrome. Now we tried to uninstall Samsung Internet App and it dies!
What can we do?

Go to Settings>Apps, select Samsung Internet, and look for a Defaults section. Is there an option to Clear Defaults there?

Defaults shows Google other choices are Yahoo.Bing, and Duck Duck go. The only option is to select one of them. We are on Google so why can we not get Chrome for the browser as it wants to go to Samsung Internet. Is Samsung Internet using Google? We do not want Samsung Internet.

I'm not sure you're going to the menu I intended. Go to the System Settings (not the settings within the browser app), then Apps, then Samsung Internet. Look for the Defaults for Samsung Internet there.
