Question Stopping a pop-up?

The other day, I installed 0h h1 on my rooted Android phone. When I launched the program, it popped up a small ‘banner’ that read “Hey there, <cust ID> /n Level X”. Annoying, but okay.

However, when I launched Shortyz, I saw the same logo. So, I uninstalled 0h h1, assuming that the banner would go away, but it didn’t. I then rebooted my phone, but the banner is still there. Question: What the heck should I do to make this banner go away?

While on the subject of uninstalling, when I ran Setup -> Apps > All apps (with show system), I saw a significant number of apps with names like android.auto_generated_rro_product_, with a size of zero bytes. Is there some way to get rid of this garbage?

Where's the banner? Is it at the top or bottom of the screen?

Also, remember that there are many system apps that aren't very big. I would leave system apps alone unless you really know exactly what they're for.

That's a Google Play Games banner. Go to Settings>Apps, select Google Play Games, then Storage, then clear the app cache and data, and then force stop it. Now open Google Play Games again and give it a few seconds to resync with your account. See if the banner still remains inappropriately on the screen when starting up games.

That's a core app/file related to Android Auto.

There's always a way. Probably a CLI command while connected to ADB. I would highly advise caution though. Removing one seemingly useless app, and there goes the Operating System. If you are going to try this, try to find a custom recovery and make a Nanroid. If you can't find a custom recovery for your exact device... don't delete anything related to the system.

I just went through every app on the phone, not including the system ones, and the only apps for which notifications are enabled are: Clock, Phone, Settings, Settings Services, Sim Toolkit, Sticky Password, Textra, and Wireless Emergency Alerts.

You rooted the phone -- did you also modify the system a lot? Install a custom ROM? Delete system apps? Rooting often introduces a significant wildcard into a situation that makes it harder to troubleshoot.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure how you're getting Google Play Games banners without having it installed on the phone. I can't remember if it was preinstalled on my Pixel 7 Pro or if I had to install it myself from the Play Store. You could try reinstalling it from the Play Store, then clearing its app cache/data, force stopping it, and then uninstalling it again.

Y'all are correct - the banner does seem to be from Google Play Games.

B.Diddy - Tried as you suggested: Installed Google Play Games, launched it, removed cache/data, force stopped it, then uninstalled it. However, the effing banner still appears when I launch Shortyz.

I then did the same (except for uninstall) for Google Play Store - banner still appears.
