Storage allocation on Nexus devices

I currently use a HTC One M8 with a Micro SD card and I'm interested in the Nexus 6P as my next device. Is anyone aware how Nexus devices which only have internal storage allocate areas for the OS and general storage - i.e. how much actual capacity for apps, photos and downloaded music could I expect? Is a proportion of storage always locked out for the OS?

Yeah, the OS takes up a certain amount and the rest is for everything else. This is from my nexus 6 (mine is the 64gb version) total space is calculated after the OS space is considered):
