Storage by pics folder,How to clear It

My Sony Experia E3 D2212 shows 400mb internal storage of Pics Video folder under Settings , but there is no pics /video stored in internal memory. How can i free this space? Default device for pics /video storage is SD card. Please help.

Welcome to Android Central! It might be thumbnails. Use a file manager app to look in the /DCIM directory, and see if there is a subdirectory called ".thumbnails". If so, you can delete the contents of that folder, but be aware that the device will always create more thumbnails as you use it -- that's how you can see those thumbnails when using the Gallery app or other similar apps.
