Storage Discrepancy?

I have the 8GB model, which means I only have 5.92GB free before I even start. This should have been more than enough room for my apps, a little bit of music/tv shows. Well, last night I ran into a space issue trying to install Win-up Knight. It downloaded but when it went to install it said "Not enough space"

This confused me. I deleted a 350MB tv show I had on there and the application installed fine. Then today I was trying to download another tv show (350MB) and received another message stating my storage was running low. I pulled up the Storage and sure enough it says "527MB Available"... but the information on the screen didn't add up and the bar at the top didn't seem to match up either (see screenshots).

As you can see my Apps only made up 1.21 GB (most of that is Shadowgun) and Pictures,videos only made up 1.11 GB (3 tv shows). So where did the rest go?!

A quick reboot resolved my issue. It now correctly reports 3.33 GB free. I don't know why this space was not properly appearing, but I'm glad it's back. Wanted to pass along the information in case others were seeing some funky numbers.

I chose the 8GB model just because I can get it faster. If I like it I'll probably give it to my son and order the 16GB model. I have a 50GB Box account and with Dropbox, it's more than enough for me. I really don't care if I have to plan a little ahead, but it's not like I have to buy an app twice, it's always stored as a "purchase" under my account and I can reload at no charge. If I really want more space I'll get a wifi HDD. At $199 it's an expendable device...
