Storage problem

I'm not sure if this is a problem or whatever , but my storage display shows that I've used 15.4/16 GB , however combinig all of my used data (images -
1.1 GB , audio - 1.4 GB , videos - 96.8 MB , apps - 2.9 GB ) I only have used approximitly 5.5 GB of the storage , where is the other 9.9 GB ?
Someone please help I really need the storage , or an answer to what has happened .

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? Bear in mind that anywhere from 5 to 8 GB of the 16 GB of internal storage might be used by the OS as well as any other bloatware the phone came with.
