Anybody's n9 showing less available than actually is?
In the settings- storage in my n9 it is showing about 1.5 GB less in the available column than is actually available. The funny thing is the little line graph above appears to be correct. Its only the numbers that are off.

Until you build up a usage database it's wildly inaccurate. Give it a week or so of regular use.

Really? I didn't realize this was true of something like storage space. I realize to give an estimated battery life time remaining and estimated time until fully charged it needs a little time calculate the info but I figured storage was clear cut. You have this much available, you have used this much, do a little math and bingo you have this much left.
I hope you're right. Thanks

By the way, was/is yours like this also?

Oops! You're right. I answered before I finished reading. Please attribute everything I said to battery life.

Now the correct answer, the total storage space advertised includes the space taken up by the operating system. In a way it's kinda false advertising, but all computer makers have done it that way since the beginning of home computers.

Yeah but the storage taken up by the os is already factored in for the total available gb's (which is 11.05gb I believe in the n9). it is advertised as as 16gb the other 4.95 GB's is for the os. That is a given as they only show you 11.05 available. On mine it is not doing the math correctly when subtracting how many GB I have used out of the 11.05 admittedly available. Look at my attached screen shot. Subtract what I have used out of The 11.05 available and it should be more than the 4 it says I have left. Math doesnt add up

I've had this problem before on the Nexus 7. I flashed a stock ROM from googles page. My internal storage was showing 8 gigabytes and it was a 16 gigabyte tablet. I finally had to unlock the boot loader to do a total wipe and reset my device back to showing the correct storage. This doesn't seem to be the case for you (I don't think you mentioned flashing anything) but it may be a fix. I can't see your attached images to get a clear picture of what's going on.
So you may try a factory reset or unlock the boot loader if All else fails. either of those two options will only reset your tablet back to the day you bought it like a clean install.

And for now look at your storage with Astro File Manager. (That's the one I use anyway.)
