Am using straight talk on AT&T with a nexus 5, at first the speed was awesome, but lately, it's been incredibly slow, I mean like less than 1mb download speed slow. This is happening all over NYC, is anyone else having same issue? I have ran speed test with friends devices with AT&T and they get well over 20mb download speed so it would seem particular to nexus 5 and AT&T.

That's a good point, am not even sure, how can I check? Although they never alerted me that I have used excess data like they normally do..

I have been playing with Straight Talk (at&t SIM) and noticed that speeds were all over the place.

I played around with the APN and deleted the proxy (80) and speeds seemed to normalize (approximately 3-5Mbps).

Not sure if it was luck or if deleting the proxy server made a difference, but might be worth a try.

I use Net10 and my wife has Straight Talk, both on AT&T's service. I consistently get better speeds than she does, plus she gets throttled sometimes. When her current 30 day plan is done I'm switching her over to Net10.

First let me say that my technical writing abilities are not the best, so my apologies if it is not as clear as it should be.

1) Settings
2) Under Wireless and Network Settings, choose More
3) Choose Mobile Networks
4) Choose Access Point Names
5) Click on Whatever Names is There, (I choose Straight Talk.)
6) Scroll Down to the FIRST Instance of Proxy and Delete Whatever is there.
7) From the 3 Dot Menu Choose Save
Then exit out of the rest of the menus after the phone cycles the network (de-registers and re-registers) you are done.

I hope that makes sense,
Dan
